I love this second book in the series! I truly loved Caden and Adam,and their unique story. This is a book full of the challenges to overcome insecurities,self forgiveness and a healthy dose of humor and love in the mix. I believe you will love this book~ I do recommend that you read the first in the series beforehand. I'm eagerly awaiting the third already!
The story was pleasantly unexpected. I really liked the fact that the author changed the main character from the first novel. That made it interesting to read. Overall loved it! Especially love the writing skills of the author. Not too syrupy, plus there is some Godly wisdom here and there that gave the book depth and insight.
Good story. Warms the heart, reminds you that life is more then surface show. The characters are strong, warm, and soft when warrented. Great complement to the 1st book. Almost makes you want to find the PEI.
Where Two Hearts Meet is the perfect title for Liz Johnson's romantic inspirational second book in the Prince Edward Island Dreams series. Those two hearts belong to Caden Holt, chef at the Red Door Inn and Adam Jacobs, an international writer on sabbatical at the inn. The title really has a double meaning, as it refers to not only the place they meet, but the distance their hearts have to go to find each other.
Johnson has drawn interesting characters in Caden and Adam. Caden loves to cook and does it well in the safety in of her kitchen, yet struggles with feelings of insecurity, shyness and self-esteem if anywhere else.. Adam, on the other hand, has traveled the world in search of a story, but allows his past mistakes to weigh him down. Caden and Adam both have issues to overcome in order to allow the other to see who they really are inside. Watching their friendship evolve and the feelings they develop for each other, was a sweet and tender discovery of what it means to truly love and be willing to sacrifice for them.
My favorite lines, "The air between them vanished, but she couldn't care less. Air was overrated and completely unnecessary when he was three-no, two-feet away."
The charming setting on Prince Edward Island had me wanting to hop a plane to experience it all for myself. The Inn, the tantalizing descriptions of Caden's baking, the small town neighborliness, the ocean views and sea breezes, all contributed to a captivating journey of bothe the island and it's people.
I enjoyed catching up with Marie and Seth, Jack and Aretha (no relation to the singer) and meeting Levi and Esther, older guests at the Inn who'd had interesting stories to tell.
All in all, a touching and entertaining travel adventure to discover the place Where Two Hearts Meet. The short preview of book three has me looking forward to the next story in the series. I appreciate Revell making a copy of this book available for review.
At first I wasn't sure I liked this one as much as I did the first book. But as I kept reading I was drawn in. It's a great story a great love story and also brought in principles from God's word that truly spoke to my heart. It reminded me once again of God's love for us and his grace. Thank you for helping me learn more about Him.
Love this series of books. It is the kind you want to keep going because the need to know what happens to the children Caden is teaching in her kitchen. I can see more stories here. I hope you will continue with this series for a while longer. Makes me want to visit Prince Edward Island!!!!!!
Book Two - I liked the first one better - but enjoyed this one too. Looks like there is a third one now - so will read that. Makes me want to go to PEI - been to Prince Edward sound in Alaska - this sounds just as beautiful.
My goodness. How could this novel get any better? Liz Johnson is an incredible author, and this series is so amazing. You just gotta read it, guys! I love it so much. I related so much with Caden. It was so nice to see an author have the main character be a little on the chubby side and it not be shown in a shameful light. She's still called beautiful. She gets to fall in love (and she didn't even have to loose weight! Gasp! This author makes it sound like it is actually POSSIBLE to love someone a little chubby! Oh wait...You totally can and it happens all the time.) I love the characters, as I already said, the plot, the writing style... All wonderful. PEI is such a magical place. Sigh. Well, it is according to Liz Johnson. Now it's a must-visit for me! Thanks Liz!
